    Jim,

You have always been in our heart since we met you. We have always admired the love and support you have shown to your children and I’m sure their love is worth fighting against any problem. It’s been a short time that we know each other but I want you to know we are always there for you and I hope you know that we really mean it.

    Love you all,

    Shirin

    Jim, Jim, Jim,
I see you all the time and I always tell you I love you and how Ariel and I are here for you. You know you can call on us anytime. Well actually, just between 10am-2pm. And only if it’s nothing too inconvenient, like maybe you want to talk or something. Seriously, I know beating the big C (which you will!) requires all the support and love everyone can give. We love you, we’re here for you and we’re going to make sure you have a good laugh as you fight this.
    Big hugs,
    A&L

Hey Chief. We are here for you and will always be so. Put on your fightin’ boots cause we are going to do this to win. We’ll do this together. Decide now and accept nothing less. All the way, like we’ve always known we would.

Hey dude. You’re in my thoughts throughout. As Nicole said, holler at any point, 24/7. And whenever you feel like it, ring me up, we’ll go grab a beer and just prattle about nothing. Let the ass-kickin’ begin. Love, Mark

One of the best descriptions I’ve read of what it’s like being diagnosed with cancer came from the great Michael Lerner, who runs the Commonweal cancer healing center out in Bolinas. He said learning you have cancer is like being air-dropped behind enemy lines and told to find your way out, without any survival equipment or a map. It’s that bewildering, that scary.
I think it’s an apt analogy … it’s a battle of wits, intuition, smarts and tenacity, bringing every resource you have at your disposal to bear on the enemy — cancer.
And when I think about your cancer journey, Jim, I can’t help but think how many resources you have — support, loving family and friends, incredible medical expertise, youth, physical strength, the list goes on. Your cancer better be saying its prayers, because very shortly it’s not going to know what hit it. It’s going to be history.
Remember, today and every day, you’re a cancer survivor!
    Healing hugs from another survivor,
    Isae

    Hey jim,
Just wanted to let you know that i’m here too keeping up with the plans. If you need anything from Portland, a microbrew, a salmon, a striper, we will get it all to you!
(that was a joke, Portland has the most strip bars per capita, for those who don’t know.)

    Hi Jim,

It was great talking with you yesterday. Our entire family’s thoughts and prayers are with you. It sounds like you are in very capable hands and we are confident that with your strength, determination and love, you will beat this thing. Which is where we come in. We want to be there to help you combat this demon. Call any day, any time if you or your family are in need. It does take a village and yours is growing by the day! All our love to you and yours.

    Hi Jim,
Heard the news of your battle today. I had malignant melanoma in the early 90’s myself. It gave me a new appreciation for life. I wish you the best in fighting this off. Sounds like you are in good hands.

    Greg
